Some people work out to lose weight. Others do it to "beef up" or "tone and sculpt". The Jezebels? They do it so they have more room for pie. And onion rings. They really love pie and onion rings.

When they noticed that they were feeling sore after a night of dancing up a storm either at Zaphod's or in their own bedrooms, the girls realized "hey, this is what real exercise must feel like!". So they set out to make dancing their regular work-out. But they couldn't just pop in a regular aerobics tape into the VCR and be satisfied with the lame instructors in their lame spandex dancing to even lamer music… Instead, these four DIY ladies decided they would choreograph what they figured were exercise moves to their favourite songs. They aerobicized their punk rock side, and what is now known as Punk Rock Aerobics was born!

After a few gigs at Ladyfest Ottawa and Halifax and some more P.R.A. antics at Bumper's (do we also have to mention the countless hours spent honing their craft in each other's bedrooms?! Yeah, they're that dedicated to having fun!), The Jezebels now have an ever-growing repertoire of routines, from Bikini Kill to Bowie, Nikki and the Corvettes to Chicks on Speed.

You won't hear a dance remix of "Lady Marmalade" in this class, kids. But you will dance your feet off to "Sheena is a Punk Rocker".
